Czech Design at London Design Festival: Clay Works!

The Studio of Ceramics and Porcelain exhibits an experimental installation focussing on student research projects which examine the unique properties of porcelain and experimental manufacturing processes.

We can judge how successful this trend has been from the work of Adam Železný, for example, who shows in London what work arising from a powerful explosion looks like. Alongside this unique manufacturing process, visitors to the exhibition can see how some of the students have worked within the stability of the material and its composition and with experimental decorative techniques. All of the above will take place in an overseas premiere!
The exhibition takes place in the space of London Morgan Cars, which is kindly provided to the Academy and the Brompton Design District. Under the leadership of Maxim Velčovský and Milan Pekař, the students have for three years been concerned with research into porcelain and ceramics as a specific material, and have developed new, experimental manufacturing processes. The result consists of unique pieces that will be exhibited in London for the first time.
